Dear Crappy Amy,

Yes, I may be deserting you to go to work, but only so that I can be fully costumed on Saturday! And I'll clearly be at the pub crawl after work. And may I remind everyone that Disco Inferno is not the only '70s musical Cecilians have ever done...some of us are so old that we have Boogie Nights t-thirts!

Also things that are great about the 1970s:

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen - 1975
Animal House - 1978 (toga, toga!)
film version of Cabaret - 1972
Grease - 1971 and the film in 1978 (But of course no one from team '50s will be wearing Grease inspired costumes...no of course not)
Stephen Hawking's theories about black holes (don't ask me what these theories are)
The radio series The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - 1978

So there you are.

Notice how I couldn't be bothered to actually look up anything other than pop culture?

xx:-)

Does anyone on Team 70s have an inflatable doll that we could pretend is McMeeks? We could put her Boogie Nights t-shirt on it!

Ben Galloway, I bet you do, you filthy minx

You know why the 70's are great? Rock n Roll. And when was Rock n Roll born, why it was the 50's!!!

Also, I'm pretty sure I once heard someone say (yes, cower beneath my wealth of specified and not-vague knowledge!) that the baby boomer generation is the ideal generation to be a part of, for various reasons, one being that the ideal time to have been born and to be a child was the 50's due to it being post-nasty diseases but pre-tv, video games and obesity. So there you go, children in our decade were outdoors prancing in the fresh air, eating unprocessed food and gaining longer life expectancy while childhood's been on a downward spiral ever since.

I, of course, was born in the seventies which for the sake of the competetive aspect of this pub crawl we shall consider to be a bad thing.

However I graduated in the 90s which is a good thing. It is because of my degree that I have a job that I can sit an post on forums instead of doing.

You've made me do it....

If it wasn't for the eighties, most of you wouldn't even BE HERE!!!!

Don't talk to me if you were born in the nineties. That's just wrong.

Okay, so I pretty much feel like death? When I said I was gonna break the ice with everyone, I didn't expect to smash the ice completely.

MAAAJOR TIT, much?

Out again tonight though, gotsta keep drinking...

I would say I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow but the fact is, I'm dreading it? *Cringe*
When I am I even in tomorrow? Someone inform me!

2.30 at the GUU for you and Andy, to do some singing. Schedule may be subject to revision thereafter...
