Hi Society!

This email is two things: one, it is rather creative, as all items are quite arty-crafty (or at least, they could be), and two, it is not as long as it could be! The reason for this will soon become apparent if you read on...


1. STORES CLEAROUT
As I mentioned in my last email, the Committee are planning to organise and tidy the Oakfield Avenue stores on Saturday 8th August, and would be most appreciative of some help on this day! If you can help out, either email stores@ceciliansociety.co.uk or reply to this email, or both!


2. RAFFLES
Everyone loves them. Unfortunately everyone only loves them if they contain good prizes! To this end, we're looking for some good prizes to raffle off at either the Weekend or Main Shows - so if you know of anywhere that would be willing to donate anything (workplaces, little shops where you know the owner...) then please get in touch with Emma via fundraising@ceciliansociety.co.uk! Please note that, at least in my opinion, wine is good.


3. POSTERS
As we all know, to publicise the Weekend Show and get lots of people to both come and see it and come and do it, we require a pretty poster design to put up around campus and a few other places in the run-up to the show. This is where you come in - we are opening up submissions for a design for the Weekend Show poster, this year Bugsy Malone.

If you would like to design a poster, then get creating! You are free to create one however you choose - the only absolute requirements are that it contain certain text, and that it can somehow be sent to a professional printer to be produced. The committee usually decide to produce some full-size A3 posters, as well as reduced versions in A5 to act as flyers, so design it A3 size if you can.

You can download a file by clicking here (if you can't open it, let me know) which details the text that was on last year's poster, updated with the info for this year. Some of it is not confirmed yet, but it will do at least for now.

The deadline for submissions is 12noon on Thursday 6th August, and designs should be emailed or handed to me before this time. If you need to arrange to meet me, I'll be around campus every day for the next six weeks, so just drop me an email.


So, there you have it. I could have put all the text that was needed in the poster in the email, but that would just have been a bit fiddly, wouldn't it?
