Just a little post to remind you all of Sweeney's Prospective Afternoon of Flyering Fun (or Project SPAFF as I've just realised that can be neatly acronymmed to). Remember that Project SPAFF day is Tuesday 26 February.
The tentative Project SPAFF itenerary is as follows:
1pm - Meet at Buchanan St Undgerground station (the entrance facing the Concert Hall), in your lovely costumes. Weather permitting, I'm hoping to go sans coat, but maybe try and pick a vaguely in-keeping outer garment that day, in the likely event that Glasgow weather will let us down. (i.e. Nice plain, dark, coaty, jacketty things. Maybe not bright pink sateen bomber jackets with 'I'm a ho!' or something similarly pithy written in spangly italics on the back).
1.30 - 3pm (approx) - Proceed to flyer the hell out of Buchanan Street, and anywhere else we may feel like wandering. I heartily encourage Cockney accents. I would discourage a capella singing. I did it once on a Cecilian flyering day about ten years ago, and am still trying to live it down.
3pm onwards - Go for a pie/lie-down/cup of tea/home...
6pm - Be at the Mitchell for the dress rehearsal, or Gregor will get his ginger slipper out.
Generally on the day, I may take the notion to shout things about pies, shaves and how our show will be better than the film because it has more songs, and you don't need to wait for the DVD to see the deleted scenes. I would like to make at least one person coming out of Greggs have to think twice before biting into his Tasty Steak Bake.
All these details to be confirmed/argued over on Sunday. Any suggestions for clever marketing gimmicks welcome.
Go Project SPAFF!!!
