Below is the programme for the Revue which will take place on 21st March. If you would like to perform in the Revue, please come along to Committee Room 1 in the QM at 7pm this Thursday 5th February. As you will see below all the numbers with an asterisk before them are open to everyone but we will be holding auditions on Thursday for the specialist song and dance numbers. You can audition for either or both. You don’t need to prepare anything for the dance audition but please bring something that you’d like to sing for the singing audition. If you’re not sure what to sing then bring something from Carmen! It doesn’t need to be long and make sure you’re happy singing it without accompaniment.

If you don’t fancy auditioning but are going to be in the chorus numbers then come along at 7 anyway for a sing-through of one of the chorus numbers and drinks in Jim’s afterwards!

We are having four rehearsal sessions per week which is quite a lot, so we are not compelling people to be in every chorus number, but we are asking that if you commit to be in certain numbers that you attend every rehearsal for that number as we only have 7 weeks to put this Revue together. I will be posting rehearsal schedules on here and also on the new spangly Facebook group that I’m going to go and set up right now.

Susanne & Dobie (Mondays 7-10pm venue tbc)
*Chorus Song and Dance: Crazy Little Thing Called Love (We Will Rock You)
*Chorus Song: Hernando's Hideaway (Pajama Game)
Specialist Singers: Big Spender (Sweet Charity)
Specialist Dancers: The Can-Can (Orpheus in the Underworld)

Lucy & Bryce (Thursdays 7-10pm, QMU)
*Chorus Song and Dance: Voulez vous (Mamma Mia)
Specialist Singers: Seasons of Love (Rent)
Specialist Singers: I Still Believe (Miss Saigon)
*Chorus dance: You can't stop the beat (Hairspray)

Emma & Rob (Sundays 3-6pm GUU)
*Chorus Song: Modern Major General (Pirates of Penzance)
Specialist Singers: tbc
Specialist Dancers: Singing in the Rain
*Chorus Dance: Dance of the Knights (Romeo and Juliet)

Kathryn & Charlie (Sundays 6.30-9.30pm GUU)
*Chorus Song and Dance plus specialist singers: Section from Yeomen of the Guard including Here's a man of Jollity, I have a song to sing and How say you maiden
*Chorus Song: Little List (The Mikado)
*Chorus Song and Dance: ABBA Medley
*Chorus dance and specialist Dancers: Jimmy (M.I.A - Bollywood number)

* = full company number

See you all on Thursday. Please bring your friends and spread the word about the Revue. We really want to encourage new people to join the society.

Amy x

Further to the above, there will also be specialist dancers involved in JIMMY and YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT, but these will be cast during rehearsals once you've all started work on these dances.

PLEASE come along. There were so many people I wanted to put in, it wasn't worth singling anyone out! I had a long list of about 20. So if you come along on Sunday at 6.30pm and see if you like the dance, I will try to give everyone a chance to show what they can do.

More importantly, it's going to be loads of fun.

Love Kitty

PS I may be a bit of a dick, but I am a BLOODY GREAT choreographer.

Did you put "Great" in there by accident? Or is this one of the three days of the month where you aren't menstruating?

Hey I am an experienced dancestress and fully capable of using a tampon. Very rarely am I physically 'bloody', I just like to share the info.

And WHY aren't the quotes working?

Kitty x

PS - should we delete the references to periods? May be scaring off newbies...

Personally, I think that it will make the girls feel more included.

Might put the boys off.

Can you change your programme to include interpretive dance in relation to menstruation? Specifically a section on tampons? I wonder what the music would be......perhaps Bullet For My Valentine - Hand of Blood ?
