Post subject:  Male Singers/Actors sought for the Count of Monte Cristo

An exciting new rock opera based upon Alexander Dumas’ novel The Count of Monte Cristo is seeking male singers/actors to fill the roles of Villefort and Danglar.

This is not a typical musical theatre show, and interested actors must be able to sing in a rock style. Please only enquire if this fits you!

Currently seeking actors for:

Villefort: 21-40, Tenor, with powerful rock falsetto preferable, think Jesus In JCSS. One of the principle male parts the lawyer that sends Edmond to prison to save his own reputation. Must be able to move and act in addition to the vocal requirements.

Danglar: 18-40 Tenor, rock vocal style preferred but power a must, think Judas meets Bill Sykes, signing and a small amount of movement, one of the 3 main bad guys of the show with powerful and aggressive songs.

Auditions will be held Monday the 24th, at Hydepark Street, Glasgow, G3, times will be in the evening at 7pm and thereafter.

Please come prepared with a rock style song of your choice. There will be NO accompanist. However, a recorded instrumental version can be played. You will be supplied with a piece from the show to learn in advance—please prepare!

To apply, please contact scott.rosbotham@scenegineering.com no later than 22nd of January or if you have any questions please call Scott on 07989 422705.

This role is unpaid, but this is a great opportunity to be a part of the second fully staged production of The Count of Monte Cristo and has received a lot of interest. It is hoped that this production will lead to a tour and concert version of the show in 2011. The production team is energised and excited, and we need people who are committed to making this show a success.

Thank you
