Please let your committee and members of the Cecilian Society know of a new book about the Theatre Royal, and which is now on sale in city bookstores, and online at its own website http://www.glasgowtheatreroyal.co.uk
I`ve written THE THEATRE ROYAL : Entertaining a Nation to celebrate the theatre`s heritage and Glasgow`s place in entertaining a nation over the decades from 1860s onwards, and I enclose a summary of its contents. It is the longest running theatre in Glasgow, and possibly the longest running in Scotland, and now home of Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet.
Much of the research for the book took place in the University`s Scottish Theatre Archive
I hope the book is of interest to you and fellow members.
